So, this evening, I was outside walking by our patio and "something" pushed my foot aside. I looked down and this HUMOUNGOUS thing was down there digging in the dirt. I was so amazed, I thought bugs like this were only found in Texas or Africa! I took these pictures and right after the last one here, this thing flew at my face! I ran like the wind, then quickly looked it up on the internet. It is a cicada killer. Really, that's what it's called - a cicada killer wasp! Wow, I have never seen one of these, but from what I gather, this is a female trying to lay eggs, then she will go find a cicada to feed live to her young. Eeeeeew. I can't believe we have these things in Indiana!
